It’s a big deal for us; the Alliance Taekwondo training hall is changing location. The following is a statement from head master instructor and Alliance owner 5th Dan Master Linda Catalano:
Alliance will be relocating to Gateway Mall in north Bismarck in late November. Master Ken Sorenson, 3rd Dan instructor Mr. Devon Waldron and I have all made on-site visits and discussed the lease terms. The agreement was unanimous – the move would be beneficial to both current and new students as well as improved visibility for Alliance.
The really exciting news is that we will be co-locating with Culture Shock Dance Studio between Jo-Ann Fabrics and World of Kitchen Wares on the Sears end of the Mall. Culture Shock Dance Studio is a creative and dynamic business, run by an extremely experienced and talented professional dancer, Cedric Tellman. The philosophy and approach of Culture Shock is very similar to that of Alliance – instructors, students and supporters are a family with a “give back” philosophy who do it for love and the desire to provide an affordable opportunity for others, especially children, to share the enthusiasm. There is a wonderful one page article in October’s “City Magazine”; Culture Shock began classes at this location about two weeks ago after extensive remodeling.
The first week of regular Alliance classes at the new location will start the last week of November. Thanksgiving week will be a transitional week. Class times will remain the same. Alliance will be using Studio 2. Please speak with your instructor for details.
So, in summary:
The new Alliance location: 2700 State St., Unit K-4, the Culture Shock Dance Studio, Gateway Mall
Last class at the 2900 East Broadway Location: Tuesday November 22nd, 2011
First class at the Gateway location: Tuesday, November 29th, 2011
Any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact Master Ken Sorenson or Mr. Devon Waldron; the move won’t be easy, but it should be to the benefit of the Alliance family.
Some information on the move itself: The primary move will occur on Friday, November 18th. Any help that can be given will be appreciated. We will coordinate with anybody who volunteers to help until we feel we have a sufficient crew to make the move as efficiently as possible. There will be a minor, secondary move on the Tuesday the 22nd after the last class at 2900; we will need a handful of volunteers to take the final items (mostly just mats) over to the new location. If you are willing to volunteer, please contact Mr. Devon Waldron and he will get your information and ensure that you are contacted if you are needed.
A big “thank you” goes out to all the Alliance students, parents, friends and family that support us and support the students; that support makes what we do possible. Thank you!
