Please join us in congratulating our newest junior black belts here at Alliance Taekwondo. Shauna Fairbanks, Austin Hunt, Tanner Olson, Justin Story, Nicholas Uhlich and Steven Weigel, students since 2009 and 2010, have all achieved the rank of junior blackbelt.
Some of these students have been training for nearly four years, and ages range from ten to fourteen years old. All of them have put in many hours of hard work, dedication and competition.
After several months of training as red belts, these candidates tested for their junior blackbelts on the 12th of October, 2013 at 10:00 AM. The difficult exam, with an unprecedented (for Alliance) six candidates, lasted three and a half hours; each student demonstrated a wealth of knowledge and an appropriate degree of technical proficiency, and performed better than fifteen breaking and candle techniques.
Junior blackbelt subject is comprised of everything that the student learned as a colored belt, as well as some more advanced techniques, including difficult breaking and candle techniques. Testing for junior blackbelt is a privilege, and comes only after a student has shown enough dedication and responsibility to earn a recommendation by the instructors.
